Green Door provides
comprehensive programs tailored to the individual needs of people
with a mental illness. Most of Green Door's programs may be used by
mental health consumers individually as they need or want them.
Green Door is
certified by the Department of Mental Health as a Core Service Agency
(CSA) and provides assessment, psychiatric services, medications,
case management by community support workers, counseling, day services
for people with a secondary diagnosis of substance abuse, day services
for people who need specialized help, and many other services to
those enrolled in our CSA.
The Green Door
Housing Services Program helps people obtain housing. Green Door has different types of housing
and provides all level of staff support needed to help members stay
housed. Green Door owns and leases housing, and helps people obtain
Section 8 and other subsidies to make housing affordable.
Green Door is
the only program in the District that utilizes the Clubhouse
model to get people with mental illness back to work and living
in the community. Working from the individual's strengths, the Clubhouse
provides members with the opportunity to learn employable skills
through meaningful work and to participate in a supportive community.
Green Door promises life-long support as members become self-sufficient
and involved in the wider community.
