Our Story

Greendoor was not created in a lab. It grew out of lived experience, late nights, and the search for clearer thinking in a world that asks too much from too many people.

It began with a simple question.
What if there were better ways to optimize how we think, focus, and function.

From Brain Fog to Cognitive Clarity

Years ago, Liam T. Donovan, now Greendoor’s founder and lead researcher, found himself dealing with persistent fatigue, distraction, and a sense of mental underperformance. Like many people, he tried conventional advice. Sleep more. Eat better. Reduce caffeine. These changes helped, but only to a point.

Nootropics offered a new direction. Not as magic solutions, but as tools that could support cognitive performance when used carefully. His early experiences with modafinil led him into deeper research, more structured protocols, and a long term commitment to understanding the science of mental optimization. That curiosity eventually became Greendoor.

Evolving with the Landscape

Greendoor began as a personal log. It was a place to document experiments, review experiences, and explore topics in neuroscience and pharmacology. Over time, a community formed around the same central concerns.

What actually works.
What is safe in the long term.
What trade-offs matter.
How to approach nootropics in a responsible way.

Today, Greendoor operates as a research informed platform for navigating nootropics. It blends scientific analysis with practical perspective. It avoids hype and avoids gatekeeping.

What Drives Us

We are not interested in chasing trends. Our work is grounded in the following priorities.

Helping people think more clearly, ethically, and autonomously.
Making cognitive tools and education accessible.
Challenging assumptions about enhancement, health, and fairness.
Creating a future where performance does not compromise well-being.

Greendoor continues to grow, but the mission remains constant.
Empower people to optimize their minds with knowledge, not noise.

Green Door’s successes are great because we see the individual, not the illness. The people we help are members of our community and we treat each with the dignity and respect they deserve. We work closely with our clients to help them meet the goals that they set; and once met, work to exceed them. The progress made by…

  • Cognitive Support, Not Clinical Services

At Greendoor, we do not provide psychiatric services, and we do not claim to. We recognize, however, that many people exploring nootropics are navigating complex mental health experiences, including ADHD, anxiety, burnout, and brain fog. Our goal is to support informed and responsible self experimentation and to encourage conversations between users, clinicians, and the broader…

  • What Is Mental Illness — and What Isn’t?

At Greendoor, we focus on cognitive enhancement, but we recognize that conversations about mental performance often overlap with mental illness. The line between optimization and treatment is sometimes blurred, misunderstood, or overlooked. Our role is to bring clarity rather than labels. Understanding Mental Illness Mental illness refers to diagnosable conditions that disrupt mood, thinking, behavior,…
