Rehabilitation Advocate
Clubhouse staff
work in one of the five "work units" of the Clubhouse:
Café, Dining Room, Communications, Member Services, and Research
and Education. Staff are expected to work closely with members and
other staff to achieve the mission of Green Door and to implement
the Clubhouse philosophy.
Job
Responsibilities:
- Building
real relationships with Green Door members and using those relationships
to help people make changes and return to work.
- Having a
respectful, mutual, equal relationship with members.
- Helping members
build confidence and take on progressively more of the Clubhouse
work.
- Engaging
members in the work of the unit and working alongside them to
perform the work of the unit.
- Structuring
the work of the unit so that the maximum number of members have
work to do all day. Developing and teaching new work to the members.
- Serving as
Job Coach on several Transitional Employment Placements.
- Helping the
20 people assigned to you meet their goals.
- Working as
part of a team in an active, energetic setting
- Preparing
and submitting paperwork (monthly progress notes, reports, service
plans) in a consistent and timely manner.
- Establishing
and updating rehabilitation goals and recording progress with
each member.
Additional
Requirements/Personal Qualities:
- B.A/B.S.
in relevant human service field
- Previous
relevant paid mental health experience leading to a working knowledge
of mental illness preferred
- Positive,
energetic, able to engage members
- Flexible,
willing to do what is necessary to fulfill unit or members' needs
- Excellent
organizational and communication skills
- Team approach
