Other Ways to Help.
Green Door's successes are great because we see the individual, not the illness. We work with members to meet the goals that they set. The progress made by Green Door members is inspiring. You can help us in our efforts to transform and restore lives.

At Green Door, it costs an average of $5,000 per year to support a person in their recovery from mental illness. Green Door is recognized nationally as one of the most successful pre-vocational and vocational training programs for people with a mental illness. We invite you to join us in our efforts to help people reclaim and transform their lives.

Join the Leadership Circle!

The Leadership Circle is a group of our most generous and committed friends. The Leadership Circle recognizes those who contribute $1,000 to $5,000 annually to support Green Door's programs and services. As a token of thanks for their support, members of the Leadership Circle receive several benefits for their support.

Become a Sustaining Supporter.

Sustaining Supporters are a special group of donors who provide ongoing monthly support or give through their workplace giving program. Monthly donations help us plan more effectively and provide a reliable source of income.

Make a Gift of Appreciated Securities.

Gifts of appreciated securities may be more beneficial to the donor as giving a cash gift of equal value. Not only do you receive an income-tax deduction, but you can also avoid claiming capital gains on the appreciated value. To make a gift of appreciated securities, please contact the Green Door Development office at 202-408-1977 for information on transferring your gift to Green Door.

Make a Legacy Gift.

Gifts provided as part of your estate plan ensure that your generosity will continue beyond your lifetime, provide your heirs with potential benefits, and inspire others to follow your example. A variety of assets other than cash, such as insurance policies, stocks, and property, can be put to work for people with mental illness.
