Group Transitional
Employment is for members who are extremely fearful, cannot work
without staff support, are extremely disabled, or need additional
training before moving into transitional jobs. Green Door has developed
these temporary on-the-job trainings in office settings, where members
practice working at a job in a small group, alongside staff and
other members for support.
Group Transitional
Employment jobs are short-term (usually 3-10 days), special projects.
Staff take a group of members to the employer's place of business
to complete special projects such as a large mailing. Members are
paid for their work by the employer. This is a good starting point
for some very fearful members, allowing them to learn to navigate
the world of work. After members demonstrate their ability to work
in a professional environment, they are able to move on to transitional
or supported employment.
